The Company offers investment and broker-dealer services through its subsidiary Sunset Financial Services (SFS) for variable insurance products, mutual funds and other securities. The Company also has several non-insurance subsidiaries that individually and collectively are not material. The Company operates in three segments: Individual Insurance, Group Insurance, and Old American. The Company markets individual life insurance and annuity products, including traditional, interest sensitive and variable products through its sales force and third-party marketing arrangements.
