NewLead Holdings Ltd. (NewLead) is an international shipping company engaged in the transportation of refined products, such as gasoline and jet fuel, and dry bulk goods, such as iron ore, coal and grain. NewLead operates in two segments: wet operations, which consists of tankers transporting several different refined petroleum products simultaneously in segregated, coated cargo tanks, and dry operations, which consists of transportation and handling of bulk cargoes through ownership, operation and trading of vessels. The Company operates a fleet of two double-hulled product tankers and three drybulk carriers (including one newbuilding) with a combined carrying capacity of approximately 0.39 million deadweight tonnage. As of May 15, 2012, it had two double-hulled product tankers and three dry bulk carriers. In March 2012, the Company sold four LR1 product tankers and one Panamax dry bulk vessel, Newlead Esmeralda.
