Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Progenics), is a biopharmaceutical company focusing on the development and commercialization of therapeutic products to treat the unmet medical needs of patients with debilitating conditions and life-threatening diseases. The Company's principal programs are directed towards supportive care, virology, and oncology. In the area of supportive care, Progenics’s commercial product, RELISTOR (methylnaltrexone bromide), was approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sale in the United States in April 2008. In the area of virology, Progenics is developing two viral-entry inhibitors: a humanized monoclonal antibody for treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and for the treatment of hepatitis C virus infection (HCV). In the area of prostate cancer, the Company is conducting a phase 1 clinical trial of a fully human monoclonal antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) directed against prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA).
