PGT, Inc. is a manufacturer and supplier of residential impact-resistant windows and doors. The Company's impact-resistant products are marketed under the WinGuard, PremierVue and PGT Architectural Systems brand names, and combine aluminum or vinyl frames with laminated glass to provide protection from hurricane-force winds and wind-borne debris by maintaining their structural integrity and preventing penetration by impacting objects. The Company also manufactures non-impact resistant products in both aluminum and vinyl frames including its SpectraGuard line of products. As of December 31, 2012, the geographic regions in which the Company operates include the Southeastern United States, Gulf Coast, Coastal mid-Atlantic, the Caribbean, Central America, and Canada. In October 2012, the Company accepted an offer to sell its former Salisbury, North Carolina facility and on January 23, 2013, the sale closed.
