The Providence Service Corporation provides and manages government sponsored social services and non-emergency transportation services. The Company operates in two segments: Social Services and Non-Emergency Transportation Services (NET Services). The Companys social services revenue is derived from its provider contracts with state and local government agencies and government intermediaries, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), commercial insurers, and its management contracts with not-for-profit social services organizations. The government entities that pay for its social services include welfare, child welfare and justice departments, public schools and state Medicaid programs. Where it provides management services for non-emergency transportation, the Company contracts with either state or regional Medicaid agencies, local governments, or private managed care companies. On June 1, 2011, the Company acquired The ReDCo Group, Inc.
