Description

Qualstar Corporation (Qualstar) designs, develops, manufactures and sells automated magnetic tape libraries used to store, retrieve and manage electronic data primarily in network computing environments. Tape libraries consist of cartridge tape drives, tape cartridges and robotics to move the cartridges from their storage locations to the tape drives under software control. The Company�s products are compatible with operating systems, including UNIX, Windows and Linux. Its tape libraries are also compatible with a range of storage management software packages, such as those supplied by EMC, IBM, Symantec, CommVault Systems and Quest Software. The Company operates in two segments: tape libraries and power supplies. Revenues from its tape library segment represented approximately 44.8% of its revenues during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012 (fiscal 2012), and revenues from its power supply segment represented approximately 55.2% of its revenues for fiscal 2012.
