Origin Agritech Limited (Origin) is a technology-focused crop seed company serving mainland China. The Company�s activities include the specialization in the research and development, production, and sales and marketing of crop seeds (corn, rice, cotton, and canola) throughout the People�s Republic of China. As of September 2011, the Company had 25 proprietary corn seed products, 19 proprietary rice seed products, seven proprietary cotton seed products and one proprietary canola seed products that are in commercial production and distribution. As of September 30, 2011, Origin had 10 breeding stations. As of September 30, 2011, the Company had licenses to distribute 20 varieties of corn seed, five varieties of cotton seed, 38 varieties of rice seed and 10 varieties of canola seed. In July 2011, the Company acquired a 51% interest in Xinjiang Origin. Xinjiang Origin is engaged in producing, processing, packaging and selling seed products in China.
