Description
Supertel Hospitality, Inc. is real estate investment trust (REIT). As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned 100 limited service hotels in 23 states. As of December 31, 2011, it had 24 hotels classified as held for sale. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Supertel Hospitality REIT Trust and E&P REIT Trust, it owns a controlling interest in Supertel Limited Partnership and E&P Financing Limited Partnership. It conducts its business through a umbrella partnership REIT or UPREIT, in which its hotel properties are owned by its operating partnerships, Supertel Limited Partnership and E&P Financing Limited Partnership. It owns, indirectly, an approximate 99% general partnership interest in Supertel Limited Partnership. In December 2012, the Company sold 114-room GuestHouse Inn in Jackson, Tennessee. In February 2013, it announced that it sold the 63-room Guesthouse Inn in Ellenton, Florida and the 120-room Days Inn North in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
