Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. is a financial holding company that provides a range of retail and commercial banking, and financial services through its subsidiaries in the mid-Atlantic region. In addition to one commercial bank, the Company operates a trust and investment company, an asset management company (which provides investment advisory, asset management, brokerage and retirement planning services), a property and casualty insurance brokerage company, and a vehicle leasing company. As of December 31, 2008, the Company had total assets of $13.7 billion, consolidated net loans and leases of $9.7 billion, deposits of $9.1 billion, and shareholders’ equity of $1.9 billion. In April 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of Stratton Holding Company, an investment management company. In October 2008, it, bank subsidiaries, Susquehanna Bank and Susquehanna Bank DV were merged into Susquehanna Bank PA, which subsequently changed its name to Susquehanna Bank.
