Synutra International, Inc. is an infant formula company in China. The Company principally produces, markets and sells its products under the Shengyuan or Synutra name, together with other brands. Powdered formula segment covers the sale of powdered infant and adult formula products under Super, U-Smart, My Angel and Helanruniu brands. Baby food segment covers the sale of baby foods under the Huiliduo brand. Nutritional ingredients and supplements segment covers the production and sale of nutritional ingredients and supplements. Its other business includes non-core businesses, such as sales of milk powder, whey protein and raw milk to industrial customers. It sells its products through nationwide sales and distribution networks covering all provinces and provincial-level municipalities in mainland China. As of March 31, 2012, this network consisted over 650 independent distributors and over 800 independent sub-distributors who sell the Company's products in over 67,000 retail outlets.
