United Financial Bancorp, Inc. is a holding company for United Bank (the bank). The Company�s assets consist of its investment in United Bank and its liquid investments. The Company is primarily engaged in the business of directing, planning, and coordinating the business activities of the Bank. United Bank�s principal business consists of attracting retail deposits from the general public in the areas surrounding its main office in West Springfield, Massachusetts and its 16 branch offices located in its Springfield Region and six branches in the Worcester Region. Effective April 30, 2014, United Financial Bancorp, Inc. and Rockville Financial Inc announced that United Bank of West Springfield, Massachusetts and Rockville Bank of Glastonbury, Connecticut have completed their merger of equals. United Financial Bancorp, Inc. immediately merged with and into Rockville Financial, Inc, with Rockville as the surviving holding company in the merger.
