Volcano Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes a suite of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and functional measurement (FM) products that seeks to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of vascular and structural heart disease. The Company’s IVUS products consist of ultrasound consoles, single-procedure disposable phased array and rotational IVUS imaging catheters and additional functionality options, such as virtual histology (VH), IVUS tissue characterization and ChromaFlo stent apposition analysis. It has developed customized cath lab versions of these consoles and is developing additional functionality options as part of its cath lab integration initiative.
