Description
Crosstex Energy, L.P. is a midstream energy company engaged in the gathering, transmission, processing and marketing of natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and providing terminal services for crude oil. The Company connects the wells of natural gas producers in its market areas to its gathering systems, process natural gas for the removal of NGLs, fractionate NGLs into purity products and market those products for a fee, transport natural gas and ultimately provide natural gas to a variety of markets. Its segments include North Texas Barnett shale (NTX) and Louisiana, which includes the pipelines and processing plants located in Louisiana (LIG), and the south Louisiana processing and NGL assets (PNGL). Its business activities are conducted through its subsidiary, Crosstex Energy Services, L.P. (the Operating Partnership). Crosstex Energy GP, LLC is its general partner. Crosstex Energy, Inc. controls its general partner and owned a 25.0% interest in it, as of December 31, 2011.
