The York Water Company is an investor-owned water utility in the United States. The Company impounds, purifies and distributes water. The Company owns and operates two wastewater collection and treatment systems. The Company operates within its franchised territory, which covers 39 municipalities within York County, Pennsylvania and eight municipalities within Adams County, Pennsylvania. The Company's wastewater operations include portions of three municipalities in York County, Pennsylvania. It obtains its water supply from both the South Branch and East Branch of the Codorus Creek, which together have an average flow of 73 million gallons per day. The Company has two reservoirs, Lake Williams and Lake Redman, which together hold up to approximately 2.2 billion gallons of water. The Company's water filtration plant is located in Spring Garden Township about one-half mile south of the City of York.
