National Penn Bancshares, Inc. (National Penn) is a bank holding company. National Penn provides a range of financial services, principally through its national bank subsidiary, National Penn Bank, including its KNBT Division. In addition, the Company conducts business through Christiana Bank & Trust Company (Christiana). On January 4, 2008, National Penn completed its acquisition of Christiana, which provides personal and commercial banking, as well as trust and asset management services, from locations in Greenville and Wilmington, Delaware and Las Vegas, Nevada. As of January 4, 2008, Christiana had approximately $144.8 million in assets, $117.3 million in deposits and $3.9 billion in trust assets under administration or management. It also conducts business through various other direct or indirect subsidiaries. These other subsidiaries are engaged in activities related to the business of banking.
