Description

Norsat International Inc. (Norsat) designs, develops and markets satellite ground equipment, which enables high speed transmission of data, audio and video over commercial and military satellites. Norsat’s business operates through two business segments: Microwave Products and Satellite Systems. The Company’s microwave components enable the transmission, reception and amplification of signals to and from satellites. The Company’s portable satellite systems provide deployable broadband connectivity over satellite. The Company’s product portfolio of microwave components includes a range of satellite receivers (LNB), transmitters (Block Up Converters (BUC)), solid-state power amplifiers (SSPA) and other customized products. The Company’s product portfolio of portable satellite systems includes the Norsat GLOBETrekker, Rover and OmniLink satellite systems. In April 2009, the Company acquired Bluemoon 4G Ltd. In August 2009, the Company formed a division called Norsat Capital.
