iShares S&P North American Natural Resources Sector Index Fund (the Fund), formerly iShares S&P GSSI Natural Resources Index Fund, seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the S&P North American Natural Resources Sector Index (the Index). The Index is designed to measure the performance of United States-traded natural resource-related stocks. The Index includes companies in categories, such as extractive industries, energy companies, owners and operators of timber tracts, forestry services, producers of pulp and paper, and owners of plantations. The Index is a modified market capitalization-weighted index and component companies must meet objective criteria for inclusion. The Index is reconstituted semi annually. The Fund invests in a representative sample of securities included in the Index that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index. The Fund’s investment advisor is Barclays Global Fund Advisors.
