Mirant Corporation (Mirant) is an energy company that produces and sells electricity in the United States. The Company owns or leases 10,1120 megawatt of electric generating capacity located in markets in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions and in California. Mirant also operates an integrated asset management and energy marketing organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. Its customers are independent system operators (ISOs), research and technology organizations (RTOs) and investor-owned utilities. Its generating portfolio is diversified across fuel types, power markets and dispatch types and serves customers located near metropolitan load centers. Mirant’s total net generating capacity is approximately 30% baseload, 58% intermediate and 12% peaking.
