Description

Potlatch Corporation is a real estate investment trust (REIT), with approximately 1.6 million acres of timberlands in Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Company, through its wholly owned subsidiary Potlatch TRS, operates a real estate sale and development business and six manufacturing facilities that produce lumber, plywood and particleboard. The company operates in three business segments: resource, real estate and wood products. The resource segment is engaged in managing the timberlands. The management activities include planting trees, harvesting trees, building and maintaining roads, development of management plans and recreation lease management. The activities of the real estate segment consist primarily of the sale of selected non-core real estate. The segment also negotiates timberland acquisitions and engages in real estate development activities through Potlatch TRS. The wood products segment manufactures and markets lumber, plywood and particleboard.
