Spherion Corporation (Spherion) provides temporary staffing services, managed services and permanent placement services. The Company operates a network of 671 locations within North America. As of December 28, 2008, it had 504 Company-owned offices, 101 franchised locations and 66 area-based franchised locations. The Company provides temporary staffing services, managed services and permanent placement services under two segments: Professional Services and Staffing Services. Temporary staffing services include personnel in skill categories, which include clerical, light industrial, information technology, finance and accounting, legal, engineering, sales and marketing, human resources and administrative. Managed services include services where it manages certain aspects of a customer function, such as recruiting, administrative services, data center or network operations.
