Alaska Air Group, Inc. (Air Group) is the holding company for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. The Company has two principal subsidiaries: Alaska Airlines, Inc. (Alaska) and Horizon Air Industries, Inc. (Horizon), which provides scheduled air transportation for passengers and cargo throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. During the year ended December 31, 2011, it provided air service to approximately 24 million passengers and flew to approximately 100 destinations. Air Group has two operating airlines: Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. It offers frequent flyer program, the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Members can earn and redeem miles on Alaska, Horizon, and a network of 15 airline partners around the globe, including Delta Air Lines and American Airlines in the United States. The Company launched mobile applications for Android and iPhone smart phones. During 2011, the Company terminated the underlying subleases and sold the remaining Q200 aircraft.
