Description

AmREIT, Inc. (AmREIT) is a full-service, vertically integrated and self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT), which owns, operates, acquires and selectively develops and redevelops neighborhood and community shopping centers, which it refers to as Irreplaceable Corners. The Company�s shopping centers are anchored by retailers, including supermarket chains, drug stores and other necessity-based retailers. Its remaining tenants consist of specialty retailers and national and local restaurants. Its portfolio is concentrated in the submarkets of Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and Atlanta. Its segments include portfolio, real estate operating and development business and its advised funds. On February 25, 2011, the Company acquired The Market at Lake Houston. On May 10, 2011, the Company acquired Brookwood Village. On July 6, 2011, the Company sold two non-core, single-tenant assets to a third party. On July 29, 2011, the Company acquired Alpharetta Commons.
