Description

Airgas, Inc. (Airgas) is a distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases (delivered in packaged or cylinder form), and hardgoods, such as welding equipment and supplies. Airgas is also a the United States producer of atmospheric gases, carbon dioxide, dry ice and nitrous oxide, and a distributor of refrigerants, ammonia products and process chemicals. The Company also offers supply chain management services and solutions, and product and process technical support. The Company markets its products and services through multiple sales channels. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012 (fiscal 2012), the Company acquired eight businesses. It included ABCO Gases, Welding and Industrial Supply Company, Inc. (ABCO), Pain Enterprises, Inc. (Pain) and Industrial Welding Supplies of Hattiesburg, LLC (doing business as Nordan Smith). In June 2012, Airgas announced the acquisition by Praxair Canada Inc of the assets and operations of five Airgas branch locations in western Canada.
