Atmos Energy Corporation (Atmos Energy) is engaged primarily in the regulated natural gas distribution and transmission and storage businesses, as well as other nonregulated natural gas businesses. The Company delivers natural gas through regulated sales and transportation arrangements to over three million residential, commercial, public authority and industrial customers in nine states located primarily in the South. The Company also operates intrastate pipelines in Texas based on miles of pipe. The Company operates in three segments: natural gas distribution segment, natural gas distribution segment and nonregulated segment. In August 2012, the Company completed the sale of its natural gas distribution operations in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. In April 2013, the Company announced that it completed the sale of substantially all of its natural gas distribution assets located in Georgia to Liberty Energy (Georgia) Corp.
