AutoZone, Inc. (AutoZone) is a retailer and a distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories. As of August 27, 2011, the Company operated 4,534 stores in the United States, including Puerto Rico, and 279 in Mexico. The Company operates in two segments: Auto Parts Stores and Other. The Auto Parts Stores segment is a retailer and distributor of automotive parts and accessories through the Company�s 4,813 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. The Other category reflects business activities, including ALLDATA, which produces, sells and maintains diagnostic and repair information software used in the automotive repair industry, and e-Commerce, which includes direct sales to customers through www.autozone.com. During the fiscal year ended August 27, 2011 (fiscal 2011), the Company opened 188 stores and closed two stores.
