Description

Berry Petroleum Company is an independent energy company engaged in the production, development, exploitation and acquisition of oil and natural gas. The Company has six asset teams: South Midway-Sunset (SMWSS)-Steam Floods, North Midway-Sunset (NMWSS)-Diatomite, Permian, Uinta, Piceance and E. Texas. During the year ended December 31, 2011, it made multiple acquisitions, each of which involved interests in properties located primarily in the Permian. As of December 31, 2011, it had working interests in 3,038 gross (2,867 net) productive oil wells and 467 gross (282 net) productive natural gas wells. As of December 31, 2011, it had nine rigs drilling on its properties and it had nine gross (eight net) wells in progress. On May 25, 2011, the Company acquired interests in producing properties on approximately 6,000 net acres in the Wolfberry trend in the Permian
