Description

Carpenter Technology Corporation (Carpenter) is engaged in the manufacturing, fabrication and distribution of specialty metals. It has two segments: Advanced Metals Operations and Premium Alloys Operations. It develops, manufactures and distributes cast/wrought and powder metal stainless steels and special alloys, including high-temperature alloys, controlled expansion alloys, tool and die steels and other specialty metals, as well as cast/wrought titanium alloys. It provides material solutions to the aerospace, industrial, energy, medical, consumer products and automotive industries. Its Advanced Metals Operations (AMO) segment includes the manufacturing and distribution of high-temperature and high-strength metal alloys, stainless steels, and titanium in the form of small bars and rods, wire, narrow strip and powder. In January 2011, it acquired Amega West Services, LLC. In June 2011, it acquired Oilfield Alloys Pte. Ltd. In February 2012, it acquired Latrobe Specialty Metals, Inc.
