Duke Energy Corporation is electric power holding company. The Company is engaged in supplying and delivering energy to the United States customers. The Company produces electricity with nuclear and fossil fuels, and renewable hydropower. It has approximately 57,500 megawatts of electric generating capacity in the Carolinas, the Midwest and Florida and natural gas distribution services in Ohio and Kentucky in the United States. The Company conducts its operations in three business segments: Regulated Utilities, International Energy and Commercial Power. The Company also operates through its subsidiaries: Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC, Duke Energy Progress, Inc., Duke Energy Florida, Inc., Duke Energy Ohio, Inc., and Duke Energy Indiana, Inc.
