Federated Investors, Inc.( Federated )is a provider of investment management products and related financial services. Federated sponsors, markets and provides investment-related services to various investment products, including mutual funds and Separate Accounts, which include separately managed accounts, institutional accounts, sub-advised funds and other managed products in both domestic and international markets. Federated�s principal source of revenue is investment advisory fee income earned by various domestic subsidiaries of Federated pursuant to investment advisory contracts with the investment products. As of December 31, 2012, Federated provided investment advisory services to 137 Federated-sponsored funds (the Federated Funds) as of December 31, 2012. It markets these funds to banks, broker/dealers and other financial intermediaries who use them to meet the needs of their customers, including retail investors, corporations and retirement plans.
