Description

Flowers Foods, Inc. (Flowers Foods) is a producer and marketers of bakery products in the United States. The company consists of two business segments: direct-store-delivery (DSD segment) and warehouse delivery segment (warehouse segment). The DSD segment operates 32 bakeries, which market a range of fresh bakery foods, including fresh breads, buns, rolls, tortillas, and snack cakes. The warehouse segment operates 10 bakeries and produces snack cakes and breads and rolls that are shipped both fresh and frozen to national retail, foodservice, vending, and co-pack customers through their warehouse channels. Its DSD system is consisted of approximately 4,000 independent distributors. The warehouse segment�s fresh snack cakes and frozen breads and rolls are sold nationally direct to customers� warehouses by frozen and non-frozen contract carriers. In May 2011, the Company acquired Tasty Baking Company. In July 2012, it acquired Lepage Bakeries, Inc.
