Hilltop Holdings Inc. operates as the holding Company for PlainsCapital Bank that provides business and consumer banking services in Texas. The Company operates in four segments: Banking, Mortgage Origination, Insurance, and Financial Advisory. The Company’s organizational structure is comprised of two primary operating business units, NLC (insurance) and PlainsCapital (financial services and products). Within the PlainsCapital unit are three primary wholly owned operating subsidiaries: PlainsCapital Bank, PrimeLending and First Southwest. The Bank provides traditional banking services, residential mortgage lending, wealth and investment management, treasury management and capital equipment leasing. The Company’s insurance products are distributed through a network of independent agents and a select number of managing general agents, referred to as MGAs, which are concentrated in five states: Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Tennessee, and Georgia.
