International Shipholding Corporation is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, the Company operates a diversified fleet of the United States and International Flag vessels. The Company provides international and domestic maritime transportation services to commercial and Governmental customers primarily under medium to long-term time charters or contracts of affreightment. The Company operates in six segments: Jones Act, Pure Car Truck Carriers, Dry Bulk Carriers, Rail-Ferry, Specialty Contracts and Other. Its owned, partially owned or operated a total of over 54 ocean-going vessels. Its fleet is operated by the Company's principal subsidiaries, which includes Central Gulf Lines, Inc., Waterman Steamship Corporation, Enterprise Ship Company, Inc., UOS, CG Railway, Inc., LCI Shipholdings, Inc., Sulphur Carriers, Inc. and East Gulf Shipholding, Inc. Its other subsidiaries include LMS Shipmanagement, Inc. and N. W. Johnsen & Co., Inc.
