Description

Kindred Healthcare, Inc. is a healthcare services company that through its subsidiaries operates transitional care (TC) hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals (IRFs), nursing and rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, a contract rehabilitation services business and a home health and hospice business across the United States. The Company operates in five divisions: the hospitals, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing rehabilitation services, skilled nursing rehabilitation services, hospital rehabilitation services, and home health and hospice services. The Company�s rehabilitation division provided rehabilitation services primarily in hospitals and long-term care settings. The Company�s home health and hospice division provides home health, hospice and private duty services. In February 2014, the Company's subsidiaries completed the acquisition of real estate associated with two nursing centers which it leases from HCP.
