Description

L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc. (L-3 Holdings) is a prime contractor in Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C3ISR) systems, aircraft modernization and maintenance, and government services. It is also a provider of a range of electronic systems used on military and commercial platforms. Its customers include the United States Department of Defense and its prime contractors, United States Government intelligence agencies, the United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Department of State, United States Department of Justice, and allied foreign governments, domestic and foreign commercial customers. It operates in four segments: C3ISR, Government Services, Aircraft Modernization and Maintenance and Electronic Systems. On February 6, 2012, it acquired Kollmorgen Electro-Optical unit of Danaher Corporation. On August 6, 2012, it acquired Thales Training & Simulation Ltd�s civil aircraft simulation and training business.
