Description

Lorillard, Inc. (Lorillard) is a manufacturer of cigarettes in the United States. Newport, the Company�s flagship premium cigarette brand, is a menthol and a selling cigarette brand overall in the United States. The Newport brand includes both menthol and non-menthol product offerings. In addition to the Newport brand, its product line has four additional brand families marketed under the Kent, True, Maverick, and Old Gold brand names. These five brands include 43 different product offerings, which vary in price, taste, flavor, length and packaging. It funds a Youth Smoking Prevention Program, which is designed to discourage youth from using cigarettes and electronic cigarettes by promoting parental involvement and assisting parents in discussing the issue with their children. It is also a founding member of the Coalition for Responsible Tobacco Retailing, which through its We Card program trains retailers in how to prevent the purchase of cigarettes by underage persons.
