Description

Sprint Nextel Corporation (Sprint) is a holding company, with its operations primarily conducted by its subsidiaries. It operates in two segments: Wireless and Wireline. Sprint is a communications company offering a range of wireless and wireline communications products and services. It offers wireless and wireline voice and data transmission services to subscribers in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands under the Sprint corporate brand, which includes its retail brands of Sprint, Nextel, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Assurance Wireless on networks that utilize third generation (3G) code division multiple access (CDMA), integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN), or Internet protocol (IP) technologies. In May 2013, the Company announced that it has completed its transaction with United States Cellular Corp to acquire 20MHz of PCS spectrum in various Midwest markets. In May 2013, Sprint Nextel Corp acquired Handmark Inc.
