Sonic Automotive, Inc. (Sonic) is engaged in automotive retailing in the United States. As of December 31, 2011, the Company operated 119 dealership franchises in 15 states (represents approximately 30 different automotive brands with the majority of its dealerships being luxury and import brands) and 23 collision repair centers throughout the United States. The Company�s dealerships provide services, including sales of both new and used cars and light trucks; sales of replacement parts, performance of vehicle maintenance, manufacturer warranty repairs, paint and collision repair services (Fixed Operations) and arrangement of extended service contracts, financing, insurance and other aftermarket products (F&I) for its customers. As of December 31, 2011, Sonic sold a total of 30 foreign and domestic brands of new vehicles.
