CVR Partners, LP (CVR Partners), is a Delaware limited partnership formed by CVR Energy, Inc. (CVR Energy) to own and operate a nitrogen fertilizer business. The Company�s nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing facility operation in North America utilizes a petroleum coke, or pet coke, gasification process to produce nitrogen fertilizer. Its principal products are ammonia and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN). The Company�s facility includes a 1,225 ton-per-day ammonia unit, a 2,025 ton-per-day UAN unit, and a gasifier complex with built-in redundancy having a capacity of 84 million standard cubic feet per day. CVR Partners upgrades a majority of the ammonia it produced to higher margin UAN fertilizer. All of the Company�s operations are located in the United States. During the year ended December 31, 2011, the Company produced 411,189 tons of ammonia, of which approximately 72% was upgraded into 714,130 tons of UAN.
