Aqua America, Inc. is a holding company. The Company, through its subsidiaries, provides water or wastewater services in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, New Jersey, Indiana, and Virginia. Its largest operating subsidiary is Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc., which provides water or wastewater services to approximately one-half of the total number of people the Company serves. Its other regulated utility subsidiaries provide similar services in seven other states. In addition, its non-regulated subsidiary, Aqua Resources Inc., provides liquid waste hauling and disposal; water and wastewater services; water and wastewater line repair service and protection solutions to households; designs and builds water and wastewater systems, and provides other non-regulated water and wastewater services, among others. The Company’s non-regulated subsidiary, Aqua Infrastructure LLC, provides non-utility raw water supply services for firms in the natural gas drilling industry.
