Description

Weyerhaeuser Company, formerly Weyerhaeuser Timber Company is a forest products company. The Company is engaged in growing and harvesting trees, builds homes and making a range of forest products. As of December 31, 2010, it had offices or operations in 11 countries and have customers worldwide. It manages 20.3 million acres of forests, of which it owns 5.7 million acres, lease 0.7 million acres and has renewable, long-term licenses on 13.9 million acres. The Company operates in five business segments: Timberlands, Wood Products, Cellulose Fibers, Real Estate and Corporate and Other. In August 1, 2011, the Company sold its hardwoods business to American Industrial Partners. On September 30, 2011, the Company sold its Westwood Shipping Lines.
