Avino Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. is a natural resource company, primarily engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of natural resource properties. The Company is engaged in exploration of certain mineral properties located in Canada, specifically British Columbia and the Yukon Territory, and in Mexico. It focuses on exploring for and mining silver and gold. As of December 31, 2010, it was exploring five silver and gold projects in Canada and Mexico. All of the Company�s mineral property interests in Canada are wholly owned by the Company. The Company holds 99.28% interest in its subsidiary Cia Minera Mexicana de Avino, S.A. de C.V. (Cia Minera). Cia Minera owns the Avino property. Cia Minera is not involved with any exploration activities in Canada. The Company owns and manages these properties.
