Birks & Mayors Inc. (Birks & Mayors) is a North American luxury jewelry brand which designs, develops, makes and retails fine jewelry, timepieces, sterling silver and gifts. As of May 31, 2012, Birks & Mayors operated 57 luxury jewelry stores, 30 stores under the Birks brand, located in all cities across Canada, two retail locations in Calgary and Vancouver under the Brinkhaus brand, 24 stores under the Mayors brand, located in Florida and Georgia, and one store under the Rolex brand name. The Company�s jewelry products are made of 18 karat gold, platinum or sterling silver. The Company operates in Canada and the Southeastern United States. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012, it closed five Mayors stores located in Fort Myers, Sanford, Jensen Beach, Tampa and Altamonte Springs all in Florida. During April 2012, it closed one Birks store located in Richmond, British Colombia. In addition, during May 17, 2012, the Company closed its Birks store at the Toronto Eaton Centre.
