NovaCopper Inc. is a base metals exploration company. The Company is engaged in the exploration and development of mineral properties, including the Arctic and Bornite Projects located in Northwest Alaska in the United States of America. Its exploration activities are focused on two deposits in the Ambler district: the Arctic VMS deposit and the Bornite carbonate replacement deposit. Both projects are located within the Company�s land package that spans approximately 143,000 hectares. The Company, through a wholly owned subsidiary, holds 100% interest in Ambler lands in Northwest Alaska. It hosts VMS deposits that contain copper, zinc, lead, gold and silver, and carbonate replacement deposits. The Bornite deposit is located 26 kilometers southwest of the Arctic deposit. Its Bornite deposit consists of two mineralized zones: the Ruby Creek Zone and the South Reef Zone.
