OceanFirst Financial Corp., Inc. is a holding company for OceanFirst Bank (the Bank). The Bank is a Federally-chartered mutual savings bank. The Bank’s principal business has been to attract retail deposits from the general public in the communities surrounding its branch offices and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations and borrowings in single-family, owner-occupied residential mortgage loans. OceanFirst Bank invests in other types of loans, including commercial real estate, multi-family, construction, consumer, and commercial loans. The Bank also invests in mortgage-backed securities (MBS), securities issued by the United States Government and agencies. The Bank’s primary sources of funds are deposits, principal and interest payments on loans, and MBS, proceeds from the sale of loans, Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) advances and other borrowings and to a lesser extent, investment maturities.
