Pronova BioPharma ASA, formerly Pronova Biocare, is a Norway-based biotechnology company. It is active within the research and development (R and D) as well as manufacture of marine-originated omega-3 derived pharmaceutical products. Pronova BioPharma’s R and D activities are divided into two main therapeutic areas: the cardiovascular/metabolic area and the chronic inflammation area. The Company’s primary product, distributed in approximately 40 countries, is marketed across Europe and Asia under the brand name Omacor, and in the United States under the brand name Lovaza. The patent-protected product is manufactured at the Company’s plant in Sandefjord, Norway. Pronova BioPharma has long-term license and supply agreements with regional business partners in 46 countries. The Company operates through a wholly owned Pronova BioPharma Norge AS which owns a 100% stake in BioPharma Danmark A/S.
