American Italian Pasta Company is a producer and marketer of dry pasta in North America. The Company has production, milling, and distribution facilities located in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Columbia, South Carolina, Tolleson, Arizona, and Verolanuova, Italy. It outsources distribution at all of its facilities and it outsources milling at the Arizona and Italy plants. The Company’s United States plants serve both retail and institutional customers. Its Italian plant serves primarily retail and institutional customers internationally and also serves retail and institutional customers in the United States. North American sales represented approximately 93% of its total sales during the fiscal year ended October 2, 2009 (fiscal 2009).
