Oak Ridge Micro-Energy, Inc. (Oak Ridge) is development-stage company. The Company is engaged in development and commercialization of the rechargeable thin-film lithium battery. The Company produces thin-film, solid-state batteries for industrial, government, and medical applications. Its thin-film battery is rechargeable, lithium-based, and the active battery layers are thinner than common plastic wrap. The Company’s batteries are focused for applications, such as wireless smart sensors that operate in harsh environments, security cards, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, semiconductor non-volatile memory chips and implantable medical devices. The Company’s fully packaged cells on ceramic substrates supplied to customers are 0.024 inches (0.62 millimeters) thick. The Company has manufactured in limited quantities lithium-ion batteries (model ORLI.0.5CL). Thin-film lithium and lithium-ion batteries are suited for a variety of applications where a small power source is needed.
