PowerShares India Portfolio (the Fund) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of the Indus India Index (the Index). The Index is designed to replicate the Indian equity markets as a whole, through a group of 50 Indian stocks selected from a universe of the largest companies listed on two Indian exchanges. The Index has 50 constituents, spread among sectors, such as information technology, health services, financial services, heavy industry and consumer products. The Fund invests at least 90% of its total assets in securities that comprise the Index and american depository receipts (ADRs) based on securities in the Index. The Fund’s investment advisor is Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC.
