Description
Akzo Nobel NV is a Netherlands-based manufacturer of paints, coatings and specialty chemicals. The Company operates three business segments: Specialty Chemicals, Performance Coatings and Decorative Paints. Within the Specialty Chemicals segment, it manufactures functional, industrial, pulp and paper, and surface chemicals, and operates primarily in Europe and Asia. The Performance Coatings segment offers general industry, protective, aerospace, powder, marine, yacht, coil and extrusion, and packaging coatings, among others, and is primarily active in Europe and Asia. The Decorative Paints segment supplies a range of interior and exterior decoration and protection products for both the professional and do-it-yourself (DIY) markets, including paints, lacquers, varnishes and products for surface preparation. The Company operates under such brand names, as Alabastine, Aviox, Cetol, Devoe Paint, Bruguer, Dry-Flo, Dulux, Mulco, Rexene, Glidden, Wanda, Sadolin and Enviroline, among others.
