First Surgical Partners, Inc. (SEP) develops, manages and operates physician owned surgical facilities. The Company, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates two ambulatory surgery centers (ASC), First Street Surgical Center, L.P. (FSSC), and First Surgical Woodlands, L.P. (FSW), and a general acute care hospital, First Street Hospital, L.P. (FSH), all located in the greater Houston, Texas metropolitan area. Procedures performed include non life-threatening surgeries, such as bariatrics, reconstructive and cosmetic plastics, orthopedics, pain management, neurosurgery and podiatry, which are often completed on an outpatient or short stay basis. It also engages in the manufacture and sale of a range of natural health food supplement products.For the year ended December 31, 2010 and June 30, 2011, with a total count of 90 surgeons utilizing its facilities, 33.7% represent affiliated surgeons and 66.3% represent non-affiliated surgeons.
